Spent last week in NH. Beautiful weather and country make for a relaxing time indeed.

Still amazed at how poorly people drive on the highway ( the room I leave between my car and the car in front of me is called a "safety zone for emergency braking", not a space for you to use while weaving in and out of lanes) .

some "toyota-ish" hatchback dropped to the ground with massive cartoon-like spoiler attached, complete with meaningless racing stickers and opaque tint is not a race car - it is something normal people laugh at.

Back from Horseshoe pond. A great time was had by all. Although the weather conditions could best be described as rain forest for the first few days, we were lucky to have some bits of sun mixed in. There was much hiking and fishing although the total fish tally was less than desirable. However, with any fish tale, my total number caught for the weekend will grow exponentially each time I tell the story. Here is a nice largemouth I landed right at dusk...

And here are some shots of a nice cow moose we spotted while fishing about 150 yards from the camp. Much thanks to Amanda for having us up. It is a true retreat.

Back from NH - it always amazes me how just a few days with family and fresh air can be so good for the soul. Saw a few does this weekend and put in a good 12 mile run. Looking forward to our upcoming Horseshoe Pond trip. above pic features a horseshoe shaped pond know as, well....I predict friends, laughs, fishing, bow shooting, great food...repeat

consumer alert - great pick up by my beautiful wife
grill light from christmas tree shop.

I am a firm believer that nothing good ever comes out of the christmas tree shops after the age of 12 when you become too old to use alligator and fish shaped floats down the cape. I now see the place as warehouse of mostly unneeded knick-knacks that women simply cannot resist - its like they place thousands of industrial strength magnets out front to pull the cars off the highway. And I can guarantee that you will not find one guy inside that is not in a state of dispair as he see his wife's carriage fill up with scented soaps and candles, cape cod-themed picture frames and salt water taffy. Scientific fact that 9 out of 10 women must visit while on-cape. And just in case there is a slight chance that they forget to make their yearly visit, just when you think you actually might get over the bridge without loading up on imitation Yankee candles, the brass at Christmas Tree Shop put the mother of all shops right at the cape cod canal. Which is really awesome to visit after sitting in off-cape traffic for 2 hours. "Look Hun, a turquoise cape cod tee shirt with a lobster on it for only $2.00" Score, grab me three!

however, I may be seeing the light (no pun intended) because this grill light is pretty sweet.

pitch black night + bubba burgers + grill light = awesome

Just finalized the new album artwork for my friend's cd

Addieville Farm - worth the trip

After seeing this place in various shooting mags, I was invited last week to visit for a bachelor party. Although over an hour from the center of the universe, it was well worth the trip. Overall, just a beautiful piece of land with great amenities and two awesome sporting clays courses - or "golf with guns" as they call it. Short money for a great day spend with family and friends. Speaking of money, it really puts things into perspective when you enter their "fine gun room" and see over-under shotguns for the bargain basement price of $35,000. Send my kid to college this year or pick up another shotgun to add to the collection - I guess if you are arriving at Addieville in a private helicopter (as two gunners were) then you can afford both - must be nice.

Heading North

Heading to the live free or die state this weekend. Always good times - family, fresh air, firearms and fishing - can beat that. Only a month and a half till bow season - time to hang the stands.
